Palm Garden AI is developing Coherence Guard, a platform-agnostic relational decision layer for human-facing robots. The layer evaluates whether a robot’s intended action is relationally coherent in real human environments, considering signals such as timing, proximity, boundary requests, emotional tone, trust preservation, and respectful withdrawal.
As general-purpose robots and humanoids evolve for hospitality, care, retail, education, guidance, and domestic environments, Coherence Guard aims to serve as an additional pre-action evaluation layer rather than replacing existing control stacks. Joachim Scheuerer, CEO of Palm Garden AI, explained that the layer assesses the difference between technically possible and socially appropriate actions.
Before a robot executes an action, the layer can evaluate whether the action is relationally coherent in a real human environment.
Palm Garden AI has built its ANATTA 9 behavior infrastructure on the Transwarp Cloud Operating System (TCOS). Coherence Guard sits above or beside existing robot control, SDK/API, ROS 2, planning, or world-model systems. The company’s Relational Infrastructure Framework (RIF) adds understanding of roles, intentions, vulnerabilities, and possible future consequences, enabling robots to withdraw if a person indicates discomfort.
