Comau has designed and validated an order-preparation system tested in Decathlon’s e-commerce fulfillment operations, using its MyCo collaborative robot with a ROS 2-based software architecture. The system autonomously manages picking, handling, and palletizing tasks across variable product flows, marking a step toward flexible logistics automation for manufacturing and warehouse professionals.
The work is part of MASTERLY, a European initiative aimed at accelerating the transition from traditional mass production to highly flexible, customized manufacturing systems. Comau’s growing strategic focus on intralogistics includes strengthening capabilities through acquisitions, including Automha and Invent, to deliver increasingly integrated and intelligent solutions across the warehouse and production value chain.

Comau engineered MyCo for quick installation, easy programming, and rapid redeployment. The solution integrates an advanced modular gripper and is designed to manipulate objects varying in shape, weight, and material. Beyond MyCo, it incorporates advanced sensors, vision-based object recognition, digital twin capabilities, and workflow orchestration tools. Comau said the system can manage rigid, soft, and porous materials.
“Comau’s role in the MASTERLY project is fully aligned with our commitment to advancing next-generation manufacturing by promoting reconfigurability, efficiency, and human-centric automation,” said Alessandro Piscioneri, head of product and solution management of advanced automation solutions at Comau. He added that the project highlights the strategic value of combining intelligent robotics, digital technologies, and systems integration to create highly flexible logistics and fulfillment operations capable of adapting to rapidly changing production and market demands while maintaining operational continuity, scalability, and ease of use.
