Booster Robotics, a Chinese humanoid robot developer, has secured over $14 million in funding as the industry accelerates toward commercial deployment. Booster Robotics focuses on developing full-sized humanoid robots designed for labor-intensive tasks such as warehouse logistics, manufacturing, and elder care. According to the company, the T1 has already been tested in logistics and manufacturing environments, showing capability in tasks like parcel sorting and assembly.

Commercial-scale production is a key challenge for humanoid robot companies. Booster Robotics plans to ramp up manufacturing capacity at its facility in Shenzhen, aiming to produce hundreds of units per year by 2025. The company employs a team of over 100 engineers specializing in mechanical design, control systems, and AI.

Analysts note that while humanoid robots have demonstrated progress in lab settings, widespread commercial adoption remains hindered by high costs, safety concerns, and the need for more reliable autonomy. Booster Robotics’ funding round, led by a consortium of venture capital firms and strategic investors, signals belief that these obstacles can be overcome within the next few years.
